A LITTLE BIT OF
History
Post Office House was purpose-built in 1893 with telegraph facilities, sorting room and Postmaster’s residence. The telephone exchange closed in 1960’s, the sorting office in the mid 1990’s, with the post office and Postmaster’s residence remaining until 2014. The distinctive, unique black and gold post-horn sign, remains as a reminder which we have adopted for our business logo.
AWARD WINNING
Breakfasts
Our cosy, welcoming Breakfast Room was the kitchen in Victorian times. The focal point is the characteristic, original sandstone surround for the former cooking range where guests can warm up in front of our Jøtul wood-burning stove, lit in the colder months. Cheery, colourful post box fabric is dotted around as a nod toward the buildings’ previous role.
